Hammocks for the garden

Posted by Dana Brett under Garden Furniture

There’s nothing like relaxing under a shady tree spot in your gardening while reading a book on a sunny Sunday afternoon. A hammock can actually make your day. Available in ropes and fabrics, these are cost-effective and look good in your backyard. However, it is important to choose the right kind of hammock depending on where you are going to use it. If it is an indoor hammock that you want, go for the cotton or the polyester ones that are fragile and cannot withstand the changing weather. Poolside hammocks are the best and can sustain better as outdoor furnishing. Brazilian hammocks on the other hand are best suited for cooler climates.

Right lighting to enhance your decor

Posted by Dana Brett under Home Decor

A dim light in your room can have two kinds of effects- a soothing romantic effect or dark dungeon-like effect. Basically, it depends on the lighting you choose and how it is placed. If you have a big house, go for a traditional-style chandelier. But take care that it goes well with the furnishing. For smaller houses, you can use brass or copper lanterns. Add elegance to your room with crystal and frosted-glass. Painted china lamp or ginger jars could also be a good option. A Tiffany-style and mica-type can add elan to your sitting room reflecting a subtle glow to your interiors.

Choose your bed

Posted by Dana Brett under Bed

Almost one third of your time is spent in bed-either sleeping or lazing while watching a movie. Naturally, you would want it to be comfortable and since you wouldn’t like investing in the same piece of furniture multiple times, it should be durable too. Therefore, buying a proper bed for your home is not as easy as it seems. First decide the size of the bed-whether you want a king size, a queen size or single beds for yourself. Check the length of the bed, which should accord to the type of bed you are buying. Custom-made beds could be a popular choice, but you should remember that buying bedding for it could be a headache since they are generally made according to the standard bed size.
